For the first time ever, the Keller Williams Realty Sewickley Division is hosting a Christmas Home Tour.
From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on December 11, attendees will have the chance to explore five Sewickley area properties decorated for the holidays.
Home styles vary, according to Lisa Kunkel, a Keller Williams Sewickley real estate agent and one of the event coordinators.
âWe walked around and picked out some of the houses that we thought were architecturally or historically interesting. We named houses based on our selections and asked them if they wanted to participate, âsaid Kunkel.
The event begins at Keller Williams Sewickley’s office, 417 Walnut St., behind Crazy Mocha, where attendees will receive a route map. Some homes can only be seen outside, but others will welcome guests inside.
One of the houses that will open is that of Terriane and Jim Grant. For them, it is about spreading joy in the community.
âYou can find your Christmas magic here, just like our six now adult children have done for many years,â said Terriane Grant.
None of the houses are currently on the market.
The event is covid-aware – masks will be provided to attendees, as will slippers to wear inside homes that welcome people inside. âWe asked each owner what their preference is,â Kunkel said.
The event benefits the Light of Life rescue mission. An Elf on the Shelf raffle and fundraiser will help increase the donation. Kunkel said that for every person who sees Elf on the Shelf on the tour, “a generous affiliate will donate $ 1 to Light of Life.”
Only 200 tickets will be sold so as not to overwhelm the owners. Participants will be divided into five groups, which will also help manage traffic during the tour.
And, some Sewickley area merchants offer coupons or specials to those who participate.
Tickets cost $ 20 each and can be purchased at kwstour.com.
